The Kamienica Theatre is a very special place. The theatre is located in a historic tenement which survived the war. It was built in 1910 and is a prominent example of the geometrical Art Nouveau style. Approximately 1800 square metres house three stages: The Oficyna Stage (for 300-400 people), The Ground Floor Stage (100 people) and Piwnica Warszawska (Warsaw Cellar) (a capacity of 80 people sitting at the tables). The building itself has a rich history. Right from the outset it was a place where art and business intertwined. “Pod Fontanną” café, situated here before the war, was a place where concerts and meetings of artistic and financial circles were held. The history of this place is of our special concern. Therefore, we would like to cultivate this old and distinguished tradition. Extensive technical facilities and several rooms (banqueting halls, a restaurant, a café, a foyer, cloakrooms) allow organising various performances, conferences, showings, cultural events as well as social gatherings. |
